PERFORMANCE
JazzBetween supports creation and experimentation around dance, music production and live music, as well as collaborations with visual artists and designers. The project's interest lies in the renewal of the relation between dance and music, between jazz culture and contemporary ways of making sound and movement.
"JAZZBETWEEN.LIVE" AT FIESTAS DE LA MERCE
Marina Pravkina proposes the performance, where the bodies build the dialogues with the sound, talking about Jazz, as a definition of the freedom & improvisation. With JazzBetween.live we open the space of improvisation and experimentation to find something, that we are calling "Not jazz". In this space also co-exist the actions and decisions of musicians and dancers, mixed in the most elegant and performative way: brilliant jazz footwork meets the groove of urban dances with the textures and virtuosity of contemporary dance, while swing piano speaking to the broken rhythms and spiritual sounds of saxophone.
Marina Pravkina with Jazzbetween.live looks for the aesthetic of the ephemeral, her interest lies in evoking the moments of magic and trance in the public and the artists themselves.

WORKSHOP
JazzBetween workshop invites you to discover the movement in footwork-oriented dance forms, such as: house dance, UK jazz fusion, jazz not jazz, as well as, help you develop improvisational skills and body exploration.
All classes are led by Marina Pravkina and include lectures and special workshops from the guests (club and contemporary dance) with musicians and djs providing the sounds.

They generate the place, where one can shift the limits of the styles to re-organize the vision on the dancing body and produce new poetics and aesthetics of the movement.
